Hurricane Donna occurred in 1960, and it was a Category 5 Cape Verde-type hurricane that hit Puerto Rico , Hispaniola , Cuba , the Leeward Islands and The Bahamas. It also went on to hit every state on the United States East Coast.
In cost, the damaged caused $3.3 billion (2006 dollars) and killed 364 people according to one estimate.
